thereuare Posted June 17, 2005 Report Posted June 17, 2005 Welcome ot BetterBidding! The above is a match for the W New York and that is our best guess.Let us know what you decide to do and how it goes, or if we can be of further help. afewhours Posted June 17, 2005 Author Report Posted June 17, 2005 hello, thank you kindly for your prompt reply. after perusing the forum more, i came to the same conclusion--that it was the w hotel. based on the reviews i found around the web, i was less than impressed and decided not to go forward with it. it may be a good deal for the hotel, but the hotel itself doesn't seem worthy of the four-star rating it has on hotwire. i currently have reservations at hotel stanford, which will hopefully turn out okay. [do you know anything about the hotel? most user reviews on tripadvisor are glowing.] in the meantime, i will continue checking hotwire, priceline, and of course, this forum.thanks again!
thereuare Posted June 17, 2005 Report Posted June 17, 2005 Expedia rates the Standford at 2.5*. I'm familiar with the area (it's in Koreatown which is really only 2 blocks). How much are you paying per nite there?I have commented in the past about the reviews of the W New York, but after looking for another user earlier in the week it appears that the recent reviews (w/n the last month) are greatly improved. Unknown if the hotel manager recently had all of his/her friends stay at the hotel and post reviews OR perhaps there is new management there and who have turned things around. afewhours Posted June 18, 2005 Author Report Posted June 18, 2005 hello again,i will be paying $129/night at hotel stanford. judging from the reviews, it seems to be in a good area, in that it's safe and convenient to other areas. i found it surprising that the w didn't earn more praise. i have been to the ones in la, san francisco and chicago (both of them actually) and they have all been very nice. maybe they have cleaned up their act at this location as well, but i'm hesitant to take a chance....i hope i don't later regret it.thanks!
