4-star North Michigan Ave- Water Tower- Gold Coast

$92 for Nov 6th-7th

Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access

Any help as to what this might be? Hubby needs to be at Northwestern for medical tests dark and early Monday morning- so looking for a nicer yet inexpensive place to stay Sunday night- to avoid rush-hour traffic driving into the city Monday morning.

The Affinia, Allerton and Westin Michigan Ave. have been seen with this amenity set previously. I'd lean towards this being the Allerton out of those three, although be prepared for any of the three.

I also see what appear to be the W Lakeshore and possibly either the Wyndham or Sheraton; please let us know if those are of interest and I would be happy to point those out on HOTWIRE; those two possibilities are somewhat more expensive ($107/$113, although the price you see may vary slightly.)

Hmmm... Looked at the reviews on Trip Advisor of the Allerton- and I don't know if I want to risk getting that hotel.

How do I bid for the other options you mentioned? The Wyndham or Sheraton?

The amenities above match all the properties mentioned, so there is no way to differentiate between them.

If you choose to bid on PRICELINE you have to be able to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating, or higher, that you choose.

So with HOTWIRE you either go with a different offer than the above OR you can sometimes you can get a different hotel offered if you change your search from 2adults/0childre to some other combination. For example changing your search to 2adults/2children a 'new' 4* hotel shows up in this zone with: Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Spa (and as far as i can tell the Allerton doesn't have a pool so this wouldn't be that property)

The above is a match for the W Chicago Lakeshore so that would be my best guess for this one. However, since this is for quad occupancy the price has gone up to $108/nite, so you have to decide of this is worth the extra $20/nite or so.

Alternately, on PRICELINE the Allerton was last reported to the board as a 3.5* property, so assuming this property hasn't been upgraded since last reported to the board, you could bid on PRICELINE and should be able to safely avoid the Allerton (however, you'll be subject to any 4* hotel in the zone that you bid)

I am pretty happy with this- read reviews on Trip Advisor and should be a good place to stay before my hubby has medical tests on Monday morning!

This is a really very nice deal for this boutique property, which used to be the House of Blues hotel (the House of Blues itself is still next door.) It is now owned by the Thompson boutique hotel chain, and is in a great location near a wide variety of restaurants in River North.
