chrred
I want to stay in Downtown Chicago from Nov 11-14 (or relatively close to downtown, if the price is significantly less). What is a realistic amount to bid, in what areas? I've been looking at Millenium Park and North Michigan so far. Willing to go as low as 2 1/2 stars.Thanks. Link to comment
AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Prices downtown for these dates are a bit higher than the norm for the season, but certainly not extremely high. What would be your desired max budget per night for this stay? The two core areas of downtown are Millennium Park/Loop/Grant Park and River North-NMA; on HOTWIRE, River North-NMA is split into Mag Mile-Streeterville and NMA-Water Tower-Gold Coast. There's really not many outlying areas; you have to go about 35-45 minutes outside the city (the 'burbs) to get to cheaper areas where there's a wide selection of hotels. These properties are often cheaper and have free parking, but I would not recommend them unless you're driving - it's a little too hard to get around in the outlying areas without a car.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. chrred
Thanks for your input. I just bid on a 2.5 star in North Michigan with Priceline for $85, and got it. Looks like a great find! Link to comment

chrred
It was the "Inn Of Chicago, An Ascend Collection Hotel" - that I stayed at for $85 back in November of 2011 with Priceline. Very good hotel for a 2.5* and the price. Sorry for the ultra delayed response. Link to comment
