We have trawled the forums on here and think we are finally ready to start bidding!

We are going to try Vegas North Strip 4* or 5* and, going by the Hotel List, are hoping for TI, Mirage, Venetian, Palazzo or Wynn.

We are looking for 4 double rooms from 03/26/2012 to 04/01/2012.

Just a few questions that may have already been answered (apologies if so!), before we start!

1 - Is tax included in the bid or is it added to the final price?

2 - Do all Vegas Hotels charge a resort fee and will this be included on Priceline or charged at hotel?

Any other tips greatly appreciated, this is pretty scary for first timers!

Many thanks, wish us luck!!!

Welcome to Betterbidding! :)

A couple of questions/notes:

Exact bedding type is not guaranteed when using PRICELINE (only 1 bed/double occupancy is guaranteed). How many are going to be staying in each room? If there is going to be four in each room, HOTWIRE - where you can indicate how many people are going to be in each room - may be a better option (although it is usually moderately more expensive.)

Taxes/fees are noted during the check-out process. Any additional charges (such as resort fees, internet, parking, etc) are charged at the hotel. Many properties in Vegas do charge a resort fee; when using PRICELINE there is no way to know exactly what the resort fee may be; with HOTWIRE, the listings often do note on the detail page for the listing what the *approximate* (in an attempt to keep the service opaque) resort fee is.

In terms of specific properties, there is no way to guarantee a specific property when bidding; you have to be willing to accept any of the possibilities within the zone you bid on at the star rating you select.

Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Few questions back at you :)

Are you willing to pay more for a higher rated hotel OR is your goal the least expensive 4* or better for this trip? What is your maximum bid (per nite per room) for this trip?

Once you're ready to bid let us know the above and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow.

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. (and please click this PRICELINE link before replying)

Thanks.

Hi

By double room I only mean double occupancy, so bed type isn;t an issue.

We are hoping for a low price of around $50+ for a 4*, should we only add 5* in as we get nearer to $100?

Also, is the change of criteria only if we wish to rebid within 24 hours?

If we are only bidding once a day can we just go up $5 a time on the same criteria?

Many thanks.
