Hi, I've been doing some research and am looking to go Las Vegas for the first time 11/18-11/20. I found your site through trying to hunt down deals and am loving it.

I've never used Hotwire before and am not trying to find a certain hotel, just a great deal, and hopefully something roughly around $100 a night since my girlfriend and I are both on student budgets. I was wondering if you could help me identify a few of these hotwire deals so I could better weigh my options? Any help you might be able to give me would be greatly appreciated!

The first deal that caught my eye was:

4* Las Vegas Strip (North Area) $108

Amenities:

Casino

Fitness Center

Pool(s)

Restaurant(s)

Business Center

Golf Nearby

Spa Services

I was also pretty interested in these:

5* Las Vegas Strip (North Area) $125

Spa Services

Resort

Resorts offer a complete destination experience. Facilities generally include a spa or fitness center, one or more swimming pools, and superior dining options. Depending on location, recreational activities may include water sports, golf, tennis or skiing. Coastal resorts usually boast ocean views or beachfront access. Note: A resort fee may be charged.

In your opinion do you think it would be best to go with one of these or try doing some Priceline bidding?

Thanks for your time!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Best guess for each is as follows:

4* Las Vegas Strip (North Area) $108

Treasure Island

I was also pretty interested in these:

5* Las Vegas Strip (North Area) $125

Probably Trump, but double check as i don't believe you've included all the amenities associated with this property

4* Las Vegas Strip (South Area) $106

Westin Casuarina

3* Las Vegas Strip (North Area) $46

Stratosphere

If the 5* North Strip is NOT the Trump then that would be your best deal... but i think it likely IS the Trump, but can't confirm unless you check all the ameniites, at which point i would not recommend this for a first time visitor... hotel is nice, but not the off-strip location you want being your first time in Vegas.

Similar with the Westin... slightly off-strip but do-able, but for the price there are better optioins.

Stratosphere... not where you want to stay.

This leaves the Strip North property your best bet, imo. I would feel 'comfortable' bidding on PRICELINE for a 4* hotel in the Strip North zone in an effort to beat the price above, but you don't want to bid Strip South as the Westin then comes into play. The other option is to bid 5* for the Strip South zone (you an also include Strip North if you'd like although i doubt you'll be successful there) up to some limit ($110? $115?? $125??) that you feel would be worth the 5* experience... if that fails then either go with the 4* HOTWIRE offer above OR try to beat it for a 4* hotel via PRICELINE.

So in sum i would be trying:

5* Strip South or Strip North (bidding on PRICELINE up to your maximum bid)

4* Strip North (either the above HOTWIRE or bidding on PRICELINE)

Let us know your thoughts, and if you'd like to first try for a 5* hotel thru PRICELINE, what you'd like your maximum bid to be, and we'll advise accordingly.

Thanks a lot for your reply! That was hugely helpful!

I re-checked the 5* North which is now showing a Kitchenette in addition to the amenities I listed before. (Don't remember seeing this last night but maybe I just missed it.) From what I've read on your site, is the Kitchenette a Trump giveaway?

I thought the sum up that you would be trying is great and I want to go for that. I'd like to try for a 5* through Priceline and I think I'd like my maximum bid to be $120. What your advice be on doing that?

Thanks for what you told me about bidding 4* Strip North over South because of the Westin as well. Glad to hear that because I liked the possible others on the 4* South list but don't want to end up at the Westin.

Thanks again!

So to begin we'll try for a 5* hotel in the Strip North or Strip South zone (be careful when bidding not to select the Strip North Condo zone) with a maximum bid of $120.

At the 5* level you have ELEVEN re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 5* Strip North and Strip South...

Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $98, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $103, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $108, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $113, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $118, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $120

Any questions feel free to ask.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.
