bombero22 Posted November 3, 2011 Report Posted November 3, 2011 Alright, I started a bid on priceline for $80 buck for a 4 to 5 star hotel and my bid went up to 125 on a 5 star and 100 on a 4 star and they are not taking it. They are for hotels in the strip north or south on these date 11-12/11-14. Any suggestions?
thereuare Posted November 3, 2011 Report Posted November 3, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding! To confirm this is a Sat-Mon stay? If so, HOTWIRE has a 4* hotel in the Strip North zone for $87/nite, less than you have already bid. Amenities are: Casino, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Business, Golf, Spa and this matches previous reports for Tresure Island so that would be my best guess for this one.Does this work for your needs? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.PS- and please read your messages Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
bombero22 Posted November 3, 2011 Author Report Posted November 3, 2011 It is for Saturday thru monday, and I was kinda hoping for something in the south end of the strip. Its for my wife and I first year anniversary. I had a bad experience with hotwire once so im always careful with them.
thereuare Posted November 3, 2011 Report Posted November 3, 2011 They are for hotels in the strip north or south on these date 11-12/11-14....I was kinda hoping for something in the south end of the strip.... but you have already bid 4* for the Strip South zone??Note that when bidding 4* Strip South on PRICELINE you risk the Westin, which is slightly off-strip... would this be an acceptable outcome? Are you ok with being as far South as Mandalay Bay, Luxor, etc?As it appears you have bid both North ans South Strip, but don't really want the North Strip, what exactly are you looking for from this stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. bombero22 Posted November 4, 2011 Author Report Posted November 4, 2011 Im going to start another bid, its been 24 hours and I' am going to stick with a 5 star hotel. Being that this is my first year anniversary i want it to be a nice place we stay at. Im going to use your PRICELINE link and see if it works out.
bombero22 Posted November 4, 2011 Author Report Posted November 4, 2011 I started a new bid for a 5 star hotel in the North Strip of Las Vegas. The Dates are 11/12 thru 11/14, its for my anniversary. My last bid went up to 125 with no success, so now Im back to 85 with a new bid. ANy other suggestions?
thereuare Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 This Saturday nite is very expensive and at current prices i think you'll need to be somewhat higher than your previous $125 maximum bid... a 5* in either the North or South Strip at the moment i'm guessing will cost ~$160-$175 (of course you can and should try lower levels and work your way up to your maximum bid)If you change your maximum bid and/or need help with a bidding strategy let us know. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck! bombero22 Posted November 4, 2011 Author Report Posted November 4, 2011 Do you think ill be more successful if i went with a 4 star????? I really don't want to end at the westin, what other 4 stars are on the south end of the strip??
thereuare Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. You could likely win a 4* hotel at under $100/nite, but as per above, if yo include the Strip South zone the Westin comes into play... the Strip North zone what is believed to be Treasure Island was mentioned above in the $80's. (personally i like the Strip North zone)While not ideal for a 2 nite stay, rates are substantially cheaper for Sunday nite, so SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID could be an option if you're willing to change hotels mid-stay, as it would give you a 5* property for at least the last nite of your stay. You can see all the hotels reported to the board in this Priceline Las Vegas Hotel List.Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. thereuare Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread.2xThe above is a match for Treasure Island and that would be my best guess for this one. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. bombero22 Posted November 4, 2011 Author Report Posted November 4, 2011 Okay, I went with HOTWIRE, I got Treasure Island for $76 dollar a night. 40 dollars less than I expected. Thanks for all the help. Oh yeah, I used your HOTWIRE link too so thanks again
bombero22 Posted November 4, 2011 Author Report Posted November 4, 2011 Thanks for the Help, I was on PRICELINE and my bid was not going thru so I took your advice and went with HOTWIRE (your link), and I actually saved around 40 dollars a night. Thanks again for the Big Help. The only question I have is that It didnt give me a bed choice? I hope they don't give me a two doubles. Also, do you know any websites where I can get some good deals on Tickets for shows in Vegas?
thereuare Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 Congratulations on your success! This is a very nice deal for this property, imo, and as noted above, i do like this area better than the "four corners" area of the south strip... Treasure Island itself, Mirage, Caears, Wynn, Palazzo, Venetian and Encore are all within a very easy walk.Across the street from Treasure Island, in the Fashion Show Mall (and a few other locations on the strip) is a company Tix4Tonight which sells same show (and dinner at some local restaurants) tickets at a discount, plus a service fee (just make sure that after the service fee it's still a 'deal'). Also in the Fashion Show Mall, there is a Starbucks (two of them actually) which has 'normal' coffee/food prices as opposed to the inflated Starbucks prices you'll find on the Strip... and an ABC Store which sells snacks, drinks, etc if you want to stock your room with some supplies.Thank you for sharing your results and using the HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your purchase.
