Ended up in a mild emergency where we needed 2 hotel rooms for tomorrow night for under $50 in Key Largo. Did some quick research and started bidding at 3* and quickly bid past $50. Same with 2.5*. Finally hit paydirt with 2*. Here was by bid sequence:

$42 rejected

$47 accepted
