Hoping it's a good hotel. I have stayed at the knickerbocker, intercontinental and the hotel sax in the past. I'll note that this property is right by the lake - it's a very nice area, but if there's a cold wind coming off the lake, walking in the blocks right around this property in mid-December may feel even colder than than other parts of the city. I also recommend Fox and Obel Market and Cafe, which is nearby at the corner of Illinois and McClurg. Nice spot for breakfast (or lunch/dinner) and the market is a nice place to pick up a snack/treat.
