rounderjd Posted November 1, 2011 Report Posted November 1, 2011 Long time user, first time poster.I needed a room, preferably close to Key Arena, for an upcoming 2 night trip to see Cirque du Soleil. I usually stay in the Pike Place zone but have been dinged by mandatory valet parking fees and thought it would be nice to try the Space Needle area for a change. On my first day of bidding, I was focused on trying to get a 4* hotel in the Space Needle area through Priceline (the only one being the Pan Pacific), but after a series of strategic zone selections was still unable to secure a room at $100/night. On second day of bidding, I saw that there was a 3* hotel offered for $75 on Hotwire matching the amenity description of the Holiday Inn. A comparison on Booking.com showed this hotel available starting at ~$96/night. After checking reviews for each of the three 3* hotels on the Priceline hotel list for the Space Needle area and being comfortable with any of them, I tried bidding in at $65/night and got it on my first try. It was the Holiday Inn Seattle.Happy bidding.
