hopeland Posted November 1, 2011 Report Posted November 1, 2011 Haha. Two in one night. Apparently Tempo Hotel has just started listing for the first time on Priceline a few hours ago. Lowest non-refundable rate for this hotel was $269 on Expedia.Lowest flexible rate was $309 on priceline.Hotwire was showing a 4* Downtown with Pool, Fitness, Business, Restaurant, Internet for $222. Don't know if this was the Tempo or the nearby Intercontinental. My back-up reservation was for the Intercontinental at $274.* As always, used the BB QuickQuote link at the top of the page.* Began bidding at $100. Bid in increments of $10.* Bid accepted by the Tempo Hotel at $130 with no counteroffers.I saw that the Hyatt Regency, which I was trying to avoid, was sold out for my dates, so I knew I was safe to bid.Was expecting to get the Intercontinental somewhere around $180.I had been eyeing the Tempo Hotel anyway, so it was actually a nice surprise to win this one at such a good rate.
AaronJB Posted November 1, 2011 Report Posted November 1, 2011 Congrats on your success. Excellent result for this newer Miami property! Glad you are pleased with the result and are looking forward to your stay.Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
hopeland Posted November 1, 2011 Author Report Posted November 1, 2011 After a little research, it appears that the Tempo charges a $30 resort fee. I haven't had this experience before with a Priceline bid, so I suppose that they will expect me to pay the fee.
thereuare Posted November 1, 2011 Report Posted November 1, 2011 Yes, Resort fees are in addition to the price you pay PRICELINE / HOTWIRE and are payable directly to the hotel. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
