I will be traveling to St. Pete Beach, Fl on 11/6/11 arriving around 6 pm and leaving 11/10/11 at 10:00 am. I will be arriving and departing from PIE. I need a rental car for my. Trip and I am considering using Priceline but I have NOT used it for rental cars before. What pitfalls should I be aware of and what wukd be a reasonable rate for a mid size car?

Thanks

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Only pitfalls is that:

1) if some rental companies are in termanal and some off-site, there is no way to know if the rental company you will receive is off-site and requires a shuttle

2) if you're traveling with a spouse who would also want to drive the car, some companies allow spouses as an additional driver at no charge, with others charge a fee for this (regardless of how booked). So if you're traveling with a spouse and want both of you to be eligible to drive the vehicle, it could ultimately be cheaper to book directly thru a rental company (see our Support Page if you go this route) which allows a spouse to drive at no additional charge vs. getting a 'deal' on the vehicle rate but then having to pay additional for a second driver

If you'd like to move forward with PRICELINE, what is the best rate (both daily rate and 'all-in' after fees and taxes) you're able to find for this rental period?
