Priceline Hotel: priceline and room size

I would like to bid on a room that would sleep 4. Hotwire seems to allow you to find a room for four, whereas priceline just says a room. I'm in being crazy worrying that we would end up with one bed with priceline?

Priceline only promises a bed or beds that will sleep two. It can be anywhere from one double bed or two twin beds on up. Your odds of more sleeping space get a little better with the higher star levels as the rooms sometimes have convertible couches or a couple queens. Certain heavy family tourist areas might have more sleeping spaces. You can sometimes check things out by looking at the individual hotel web sites. Some hotels will supply a fold-up cot for an additional charge.

BUT - there is NO way to be sure via Priceline. If you really need sleeping places for 4, Hotwire is definitely your best bet.

In addition to the above, location and occupancy levels play a big factor in regards to whether or not your request for a room with two beds will be honored.

If traveling in a large city such as NYC, Chicago, etc, where rooms are often small and only have one bed, then it's considered a higher risk vs. a place such as Orlando where hotels are used to accommodating families and therefore have a greater number of rooms with two beds.

San Juan pre cruise at christmas. Four years ago, I got the Caribe Hilton through here on Hotwire. Ideally, I would LOVE to get that again but I figure the chances are slim because there seems to only be one option coming up for HOTWIRE for xmas.

You could look up the reported win hotel web sites for the zone(s) and star level(s) you are bidding. Often on the hotel web sites they tell how many rooms they have with different bed configurations. Still no guarantees, since there could be a not-yet-reported hotel in the mix.

Even that Carib Hilton has rooms with just one king.

If I managed to get the Caribe Hilton with a king, I'd make the kids sleep on the floor lol.

HOTWIRE only has one seemingly unidentified hotel available during my time frame for $88 with no beach and tennis nearby.

Service levels are somewhat different in Puerto Rico then what you may be accustomed to in the States... i wouldn't expect a San Juan hotel to 'bend over backwards' to accommodate your request for a room with two beds, especially during a busy time of year.

As per above, it's a risk you'll have to decide if you're willing to accept or not. For double occupancy HOTWIRE has what appears to be the Conrad Condado Plaza for ~$155/nite.
