Hi I am new to this forum but found it thanks to google. :) This will be my first time using priceline bidding for a hotel. I will be going to new york with 2 friends from 12/15-12/19.I know priceline does not guarantee enough room for 3 but I read on another thread that it can be possible. We would like to stay in these area in order of preference: times square, midtown central, madison square, midtown east. I would like to start bidding as low as you all see fit, and my max would be $250 a night. Do you all think that is doable? Thank you! :)

Welcome to BetterBidding!

There is no MTC zone on PRICELINE... did you mean MTW? Are you willing to pay more to stay in your first zone choice vs. your second choice vs. your third choice, etc, etc... OR is your goal the least expensive 4* hotel in any of your acceptable zones?

Also, while it may not be necessary, i do think you may be able to save some money by SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID, which would require that you may (likely) need to change hotels mid-stay, would this be of interest?

To confirm, you're willing to accept that you may receive a room with only one bed (and there may be no room for a rollaway or cot)

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.

Please confirm the above and we'll advise accordingly.

My goal is the least expensive hotel in any of my acceptable zones. It will be my friends first time going to New York and we would prefer to stay in Times Square for her but not if it'll be more than $250 a night. If we only get one bed will it be a king bed? We also have a air mattress in case we may need to use it. I wouldn't want to switch hotels midstay. Thank you for your help!!

My goal is the least expensive hotel in any of my acceptable zones... and we would prefer to stay in Times Square for her but not if it'll be more than $250 a night.

This is somewhat contradictory, can you please clarify? Are you looking to bid up to $250/nite for a 4* hotel in the Times Square zone before trying the other zones (as the latter part of your statement implied) OR are you looking for the least expensive 4* hotel in any of the zones you mentioned (as the beginning part of your sentence implies)??

If we only get one bed will it be a king bed? We also have a air mattress in case we may need to use it.

All that is guaranteed when using PRICELINE is a room that will accommodate double occupancy... there is no way to know how many beds will be in the room or what size they may be.

Please clarify my first question above and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow, as well as if you previously meant MTW (and not MTC)

Please click each of these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links before replying.

Thanks.
