Priceline Hotel: Ft Lauderdale 1st time user for hotwire and priceline

I am interested in just a 1 night stay in Fort Lauderdale in Jan 2012.

I am hoping for a beach front 4 star resort for my family before we start our cruise.

Would I get a better chance booking now or closer to the departure date? Thank you.

If your dates are certain, it's never too early to start bidding. the moderators will be able to help you with the strategy to get the best price, but my comment applies to the timing of booking. Help ID fort lauderdale beach area hotels

Hotwire has this 3 1/2 star hotel listed for $158 but seems a bit pricey for this star rating.

amenities include

near beach,smoke free rooms,fitness center,pools,restaurant,business center,high speed internet access

Another with 4 star rating for $108

amenities include

resort, fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center, high speed internet, golf & tennis nearby, spa

I will need 4 rooms pre-cruise for a family reunion. Can't afford to make a mistake. Thanks so much.

Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread, if you ultimately use HOTWIRE we'll move teh entire thread to that section of the board.

The 4* property matches previous reports for the Hyatt Pier 66 while the 3.5* property is a match for the Sheraton Ft Lauderdale Beach, so these would be our best guess for each.
