BLee Posted June 15, 2005 Author Report Posted June 15, 2005 My first and second bids for 9/3/05 were for 4* (Downtown and then adding Airport Area). Bid was accepted at $60 by the Westin, Downtown, when I added 3* hotels to the bidding. I also received $60 from the Westin for 9/10/05.However, one combination of pricing that I did not try was 3*, Downtown, $55. I was rejected at Downtown, $50, on my 9/10/05 attempt.Good luck to all. Thanks to everyone for sharing information.
BLee Posted September 14, 2005 Author Report Posted September 14, 2005 Recently returned from our trip to Calgary. I had successfully obtained three rooms for Sept 3rd and 10th at $60 (US) per night. When checking in, I present my Starwood Preferred Gold Card. For the evening of Sept 3rd, the Westin upgraded us to the "club" floor. Rooms were very clean, comfortable, and spacious. On our return on Sept 10th, Westin upgraded all our rooms to "mini-suites"....very large rooms with sitting areas. Westin has all amenities...ironing boards, hair dryers, etc. Our friends were absolutely stunned at the rate we got. Staff and hotel were excellent. Highly recommend to all. Happy biddding!
