Got a 4* at Millennium Hilton, 55 Church for $250 nightly for a 4 night stay. I selected 3* up on my bid, but was upgraded to 4. I have heard it's a busy time, so I think I did alright? But I'm a novice at Pricelining, so, maybe not?

Hi, I stay at the Millennium Hilton in november a few years ago after I won a Priceline bid for $140. It's a nice hotel, though the staff is just OK. We got an large room with 2 beds on a high floor facing the Brooklyn. I suggest requesting a high floor facing away from the construction at the world trade center site. I have heard there can be noise but we weren't bothered at all. The downside is that you will be all the way downtown, so even though there is a subway right outside the door we felt we spent/wasted a lot of time traveling and going back and forth but we were also 2 girls doing a lot of shopping and going out to eat so to drop off bag at the hotel at the end of the day and then go out to dinner took forever with the subway.... We are going again in a few weeks and I am hoping to get a 4* hotel on Priceline between SoHo and Midtown but would def. stay downtown again if that turns out to be impossible...

Thanks for sharing, sounds like maybe I didn't do so well. I had heard this was a busy week, so I didn't want to wait too long.

PRICELINE rates differ significantly (and sometimes very significantly) from day-to-day in NYC; with the lowest rate on Expedia for these dates being $429 for this property, I'd say you definitely did well for busy dates.

Thank you for the follow-up.

I think you did fine on the price. I stayed at the Millennium Hilton 2 years ago and I can tell by the bidding I have been doing on Priceline the last few weeks that prices are higher now. I keep hoping I'll get lucky for $230 or under for a 4* and haven't succeeded. They have also finished construction on the 9/11 memorial now. When I was there it was only a construction site with huge holes in the ground, so that could have been the reason the price was so good.... Hope you enjoy your stay! :)

P.S. There is a Starbucks right around the corner in the same building and you are just across the street from Century 21 department store...

I feel you overbid somewhat.

I have been bidding on 4* Oct 24-29 in DT & MTE for a few weeks with a max of $200/nt.

Last night i got a counter-offer of $218 which I rejected... and I bid up to my max of $202 without success.

So... you should have been able to win in the DT zone for bids somewhere between $202 and $218/nt.

I have seen other winning bids at the Millenium Hilton for nights within my bidding dates for $200/nt.
