kilty123 Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 Was bidding last minute. I know this seems a lot but Boston must be hot this week. Tried up to $125 for 4* in most areas, $120 for 3*. This was going to be my last bid before booking through regular channels. Website rate for this hotel was $159 so not too disappointed.
thenewbie Posted June 15, 2005 Report Posted June 15, 2005 Was $105 your first bid at the 2.5* level?
kilty123 Posted June 15, 2005 Author Report Posted June 15, 2005 No. I started at $80 ; at $100 I was offered acceptance at $22 more. I chose to re-bid at $105.

kilty123 Posted June 24, 2005 Author Report Posted June 24, 2005 Well, not only was the hotel sold out but when we arrived (about 7pm) they were overbooked - they said a bus load of minors had to stay over as their bus had broken down - likely story! They sent us to the Sierra Suites in Waltham which turned out to be now owned by Extended Stay (Deluxe) in Waltham ( right behind the Westin). Was a nice place but was a bit further out of Boston than we expected. They offered to cover our taxi fares to the "T" and gave us a free 5 minute long distance call (oooh!). From the invoice at check out, they had to pay $275 to Extended Stay!!
kilty123 Posted August 9, 2005 Author Report Posted August 9, 2005 As a follow up to my last post - I sent a polite e-mail of complaint to Priceline's customer service, explaining my disappointment at being much further out of Boston than expected and the added expense of travel due to the hotel's overbooking. They apologized and refunded the whole amount of the 2 night's stay. - Wow!! - that's great customer service! Thanks Thereuare for the support!! :)
