AdGuy Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 Been trying to land a 4*, 3*, or 2.5* in the Inner Harbor area for an upcoming conference with absolutely NO luck over the past few weeks. Every 72 hours, I had gone to $175 at EACH level and been rejected countless times. Knowing that Priceline inventory constantly changes, I thought I'd throw one last attempt for a 4* in:4* Inner Harbor at $150 bid - REJECTED but given a $175 counteroffer4* added Hanover (free rebid) at $160 - ACCEPTED :) Renaissance Harborplace HotelInner Harbor Area - Downtown202 East Pratt Street Baltimore, Maryland 21202 Your Offer Price: $160.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 4 Subtotal: $640.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $97.49 Total Charges: $737.49 Normally I'd be disappointed in getting this hotel for $160 (it usually goes for half that) but NOTHING was coming up on Priceline and the best online search found this hotel for $299/night. Even Hotwire was over $200/night for anything at Priceline's 3* or 4* level. By far the most I've spent for a Priceline stay (ahh...where are the days of $5 Las Vegas Priceline rooms?) but still glad to get this hotel!!AdGuy :)
thereuare Posted June 15, 2005 Report Posted June 15, 2005 Glad to hear of your ultimate success!Looks like quite a busy time in DC as rates are up at a lot of hotels for these dates.Expensive in dollar terms, but still a great value based upon prevailing rates.Have a great stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
AdGuy Posted June 15, 2005 Author Report Posted June 15, 2005 Good point thereuare...it also makes it easier as it's not my money but my wife's employer (a hospital) paying for this. Now you know why they charge $100 for an asprin! :)
