Victor Page Posted October 20, 2011 Report Posted October 20, 2011 $222 per night, good deal I think because reservations via the Hotel website are showing $499/night.As always, the re-bidding strategy championed on this site worked wondersNot sure if this helps anyone but for same weekend, bid $211 for Soho/Financial District, was rejected, but implored to re-bid $256. So I guess that means I would have won something at that price?
AaronJB Posted October 20, 2011 Report Posted October 20, 2011 Congrats on your success. :)Definitely an excellent discount for NYC! Can you confirm which hotel you did get - the thread title listed both W and Intercontinental Barclay. If you get a counter-offer from PRICELINE, the actual required bid for a win is often in-between the counter-offer price and your last bid and one can use re-bidding to work higher slowly rather than jumping to the counter-offer price. However, if one did jump right to the counter-offer price, acceptance is highly likely.Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
Victor Page Posted October 20, 2011 Author Report Posted October 20, 2011 Intercontinental - The Barclay was the one
thereuare Posted October 20, 2011 Report Posted October 20, 2011 Thanks for the follow-up!You're also near my often recommended Ess-A-Bagel (Third Ave at 51st St) which has one of the best bagels in the city, makes for a nice, and relatively inexpensive, breakfast among local NYers. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
