Priceline Hotel: Bidding help for 4* NMA-River North Chicago

Dates needed are 11/18/11 - 11/20/11 in the North Michigan Avenue-River North area, 4* preferred but 3 1/2* would be fine too.

Hotels are starting to run specials for between 180 and 199 a night. Those are mostly 4* hotels. Where should I start my bidding. I'd love to get a room for less than $100 a night but not sure it's possible.

At current rates I'm doubtful that under $100 will be enough for a 4* hotel, but $120-$140 might be.

What is your maximum bid for this stay? Did you want to try for a 4* first up to your limit, then if rejected try for a 3.5*... OR is your goal the least expensive 3.5* or better for this stay?

The Festival of Lights is the 19th; while a fairly big event, I don't think it should have a huge effect on hotels (although there may be some people from the region coming in.) With one or two exceptions, the 3.5*'s in the zone are still very nice. I would agree that a 4* will likely - based on rates I'm seeing - cost around $120-140, although hopefully at the lower end of that range.

I've bid $100, $115, $120 and now $125 and still no luck for a 4* in NMA. I'll update if I try again.
