kimmers71 Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 Dates needed are 11/18/11 - 11/20/11 in the North Michigan Avenue-River North area, 4* preferred but 3 1/2* would be fine too.Hotels are starting to run specials for between 180 and 199 a night. Those are mostly 4* hotels. Where should I start my bidding. I'd love to get a room for less than $100 a night but not sure it's possible.
thereuare Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 At current rates I'm doubtful that under $100 will be enough for a 4* hotel, but $120-$140 might be.What is your maximum bid for this stay? Did you want to try for a 4* first up to your limit, then if rejected try for a 3.5*... OR is your goal the least expensive 3.5* or better for this stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. AaronJB Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 The Festival of Lights is the 19th; while a fairly big event, I don't think it should have a huge effect on hotels (although there may be some people from the region coming in.) With one or two exceptions, the 3.5*'s in the zone are still very nice. I would agree that a 4* will likely - based on rates I'm seeing - cost around $120-140, although hopefully at the lower end of that range.
kimmers71 Posted October 19, 2011 Author Report Posted October 19, 2011 I'm going for the Festival of Lights. I'll try $100 for a 4* and see what happens.

kimmers71 Posted October 26, 2011 Author Report Posted October 26, 2011 I've bid $100, $115, $120 and now $125 and still no luck for a 4* in NMA. I'll update if I try again.
