pmc22 Posted October 17, 2011 Report Posted October 17, 2011 Bid up to $34 at 4* and not accepted. Dropped down to 3.5* and started bidding at $30 and raised in small increments until $36 accepted. Was upgraded to 4* level. This hotel is only $41 through regular PRICELINE website. However they say that there is a 14% tax and $10 fee on top of that the hotel charges. My winning bid mentions nothing of any additional fees. Is anyone aware of the hotel trying to charge additional $$$ upon check-in?Used PRICELINE link to begin my bidding.Harrah's Hotel And Casino777 Harrahs BoulevardAtlantic City, NJ 08401Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $36.00 (USD)Number of Rooms: 1Number of Guests Per Room: 2Number of Nights: 1Room Subtotal: $36.00 (USD)Taxes and Fees: $13.56 (USD)Total Room Cost: $49.56 (USD)
thereuare Posted October 17, 2011 Report Posted October 17, 2011 Congratulations on your success! The 14% tax should be included in your winning bid total, but depending upon how the $10 fee is classified it could be payable directly to the hotel (if there is a few, i don't believe PRICELINE provides hotel specific information regarding if there is an additional fee, and if so, how much)... if it is a 'resort' fee then it would be payable directly to the hotel at check-in. Given that the Harrahs group is one of the few hotel chains in Vegas which doesn't charge a Resort fee, it's somewhat surprising that they do in Atlantic City (if that is indeed how the $10 fee you're referring to is classified)Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay... and good luck if you'll be playing at the casinos!
