oneandone Posted October 15, 2011 Report Posted October 15, 2011 First time posting so please let me know if there's anything I should change. Just got a successful bid, after some unsuccessful ones. I followed the rebidding tips on the board & used the adding zones star levels technique. Unsuccessful bids: Started at $85 and increased in $5 increments until $110. 2 nights, from 10/27 - 10/29. Renaissance Washington Dc Dupont Circle Hotel Listed as Georgetown - Foggy Bottom zone1143 New Hampshire Ave NW, Washington, DC 20037 202-775-0800 Check-In: Thursday, October 27, 2011-03:00 PMCheck-Out: Saturday, October 29, 2011-12:00 PMRoom Cost (avg. per room, per night): $110.00 (USD)Number of Rooms: 1Number of Guests Per Room: 2Number of Nights: 2Room Subtotal: $220.00 (USD)Taxes and Fees: $40.18 (USD)Total Room Cost: $260.18 (USD)I live in DC and am familiar with the area. The hotel's for visiting family and I think they'll enjoy it. I wouldn't have considered it being in Foggy Bottom, but I guess since it's halfway between Dupont & Foggy Bottom, that's fair. This was my first time bidding on priceline, but I've never tried looking for a hotel inside DC and they are ridiculously expensive! Tough to find something for under $200, so I'm feeling good about $110 - especially since the hotel taxes in DC are so high. I'm sure there are cheaper hotels in DC, but I needed a hotel in Dupont / Adams Morgan / Woodley / Penn Quarter, and still had some room in the budget. Thanks for putting together a helpful site!
AaronJB Posted October 15, 2011 Report Posted October 15, 2011 Congrats on your success and Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Superb deal for this Renaissance property! DC is definitely difficult/expensive during some periods of the year, unfortunately.Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
