Jbfly Posted October 15, 2011 Report Posted October 15, 2011 Hi, First post here. Going to Las Vegas from 10/26 to 10/31. Want to stay at/near Mandalay Bay as that is where most of our group is staying. Looking at 4 star. Used the PRICELINE link from this forum, offered $100 and was accepted:4 Star Deluxe Hotel, Las Vegas Strip Vicinity South Area 4-StarCheck-In Date: Wednesday, October 26, 2011Check-Out Date: Monday, October 31, 2011Region Las Vegas, NVCity Area: Las Vegas Strip Vicinity SouthCheck-In Time: Guaranteed late night arrivalCheck-Out Time: Check-out times vary by hotelRoom 1: JbflyNumber of Rooms: 1Number of Nights: 5Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $100.00 Subtotal: $500.00Taxes and Service Fees: $76.75Total Charges*: $576.75 I didn't purchase this however. Can I get a better price? Any way to put in a certain price to get particular hotels? Any idea what this hotel might be?Thanks. Wish I used this for my car rental. Did OK for this trip but got KILLED on NY trip this past August.
AaronJB Posted October 15, 2011 Report Posted October 15, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)In terms of bidding, there is no way to know if a hotel will accept the bid price entered during the checkout process. The list of possible hotels that have been reported to the board can be found at this link: Priceline Hotel List. There may be others not yet reported to the board and star ratings can change. There is no way to bid for a particular hotel/avoid a hotel/increase the odds of a particular hotel; if you bid for a 4* in the Las Vegas Strip South area (for example), you have to be willing to accept any of the possible 4*'s in the zone. What would be your desired budget per night? I do certainly think you have time to start a bit lower in terms of bidding for a 4* in the area - I'd say $80 would be a more reasonable starting bid and work higher by $5's.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted October 15, 2011 Report Posted October 15, 2011 Also, note that based upon the screen/information posted, your bid was not accepted... this is simply the page where PRICELINE asks that you review the information before it gets submitted. Actual pricing and inventory is not checked until you click the "BUY MY HOTEL ROOM NOW" button and you have submitted your credit card information... i assume you have not done either of these at this point? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
