Snoggie Posted October 13, 2011 Report Posted October 13, 2011 Hi Guys !This is my first time using priceline.com and what appreciate a little help :)Do you have an Idea of what to bid for a 3
AaronJB Posted October 14, 2011 Report Posted October 14, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Please provide which zones you would be interested in bidding for and your desired budget per night, and we would be happy to offer suggestions on how to proceed.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Snoggie Posted October 14, 2011 Author Report Posted October 14, 2011 Thank you :)!We are interessted in all zones on Manhattan! Our budget is at around 130 $ max per night.
thereuare Posted October 15, 2011 Report Posted October 15, 2011 Your budget will not likely be enough for a 3.5* or 4* hotel for these dates... not only is it seasonally an expensive time of year, but the NYC Marathon occurs near the end of your stay and this brings runners (and those who watch them) in from all over the world, often selling out many properties. What is the best rate you're able to find at an acceptable through conventional booking channels? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Snoggie Posted October 16, 2011 Author Report Posted October 16, 2011 Arh okay, I didn't quite realise that, do you know when the Marathon begins ??I think it's around $190/night.Thanks for your help !
thereuare Posted October 16, 2011 Report Posted October 16, 2011 The Marathon itself is Sunday, November 6th, but the city begins to get very busy a few days before as runners don't want to travel too close to the Marathon date.Is increasing your budget an option, SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID (changing hotels mid-stay), or staying some nites of stay outside of Manhattan in an area that is easily commutable? What is the hotel you found for $190/nite?Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Snoggie Posted October 17, 2011 Author Report Posted October 17, 2011 I see, hmm, we probably should have chosen some other dates.I've been trying splitting it going from the 31st till the 4th-5th-6th, but nothing realy seems to happen.I found one at ~175$/night on hotwire in the chelsea area yesterday..Hmm.. our budget is just not going above 150$/night.Do you know how to make miracles happen :) ?
thereuare Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 Something will have to 'give'... either your budget, star rating, or staying outside of the city in an area where you can easily commute in.I think you could get a 4* hotel in the Hoboken-Jersey City zone for ~$150/nite for 11/3-11/7, but in looking ahead, 10/31-11/3 still looks like it will prove to be difficult and require a bit higher budget (although i do see some options if you're willing sacrifice convenience in exchange for price)Let us know your thoughts and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... and your searches too! Snoggie Posted October 21, 2011 Author Report Posted October 21, 2011 Super, let's do that,I'm basicly open for every zone on Manhattan and some 3 or prefarably 4 star in Brooklyn or Long Island City.I saw someone having won a 4 star sheraton in Brooklyn, for some of these days, I would really love that one aswell, do you know how to ??Thanks again,Christina
thereuare Posted October 22, 2011 Report Posted October 22, 2011 What about a 4* hotel Hoboken/Jersey City (with easy commute into Manhattan via PATH train)... would this be an acceptable area as well?I'm thinking a 4* hotel in Hoboken/Jersey City and then a 4* hotel in Brooklyn for part of the trip... each under $150/nite; but i don't think either is currently available for your complete stay.Thoughts? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... and please click this PRICELINE link before replying.Thanks.
