mak136 Posted July 8, 2011 Report Posted July 8, 2011 Two curious questions, one of which probably has been asked many times.I'm looking at Atlanta-Perimeter for 9/22-25. It looks like i have a 4* and 3 1/2* option of likely Crowne Plaza, or W Hotel, or another one I'm failing to recall (Westin?).Can Crowne Plaza show up as an option for both 4* and 3 1/2*And, 2nd question...how far in advance would a hotel opt to list on Hotwire?I was hoping a "suite" hotel would be listed being either Embassy Suites (would be perfect) or Hilton Suites. Thanks for your time!

mak136 Posted July 12, 2011 Author Report Posted July 12, 2011 9/22-9/25 Atlanta Perimeter choices:2 rooms (3 adults) 4* ($56) - "Bed choice", fitness, pool, restaurant, high speed. 70% recommended3 1/2* ($65) - non smoking, fitness, pool, restaurant, high speed. 80% recommended3* ($54) - fitness, pool, business, laundry, high speed. Was hoping a "suite" hotel would be listed at 3 1/2 or 4* - hoping for Embassy Suites because of a brunch we have to attend that weekend there. At this point, I would probably opt for 4* due to price and quality. Any ideas what these could be? Also wondering whether since I am still over 2 months away, that I should hold off and see what else prevails? Thanks!Mak

mak136 Posted October 11, 2011 Author Report Posted October 11, 2011 Ah now I understand...I kept thinking you meant Orlando in your prior posting "thereyouare". Sorry about that!!! I clearly was confused. So dumb. :)For Atlanta, I decided to bid on Priceline since I received a $8/night bonus email. I thought I posted that here.I will post on the Priceline section now.Ended up with 4* Atlanta Perimeter Hotel & Suites at $48 a night (plus $5 bonus).I didn't expect alot from the hotel, so based on that, we all enjoyed it...including 2 80yr old couples that were traveling with me. Granted it's a bit worn on the edges, but the service was great.
mak136 Posted October 11, 2011 Author Report Posted October 11, 2011 Bidding only for 4star hotels, I started with $45 and increased with free bid to $48...AcceptedSept 23 for 2 nightsOffer Price: avg. per room, per night $48.00 (plus $5 bonus per night/room)Rooms: 3 Nights: 2 Travel Insurance: $30.00 Room Subtotal: $318.00 Taxes & Fees: $58.56 Total Charged to Card: $376.56 Hotel turned out to be decent for the most part. Rooms were clean, do not look closely under the mattress cover..don't say I didn't warn you. Every room has a balcony. The staff service was excellent! The restaurant however was a bust for breakfast. Awful service and out of your basic bagels at 8am.GREAT location across from Perimeter Mall, very easy to walk to.
