AHTOXXXA Posted October 11, 2011 Report Posted October 11, 2011 Hi everyone. I want to make a reservation for 6 5* rooms 3/3/12-3/10/12 in Dubai, UAE. As i can see experience on www.betterbidding.com average price for 5* hotel is $80-100. Is there any difference on "name your own price" when you book a lot of rooms at once? May be some one can give me any advice for 5* hotels in Jumeira area? Thank you in advance and sorry for my English.
thereuare Posted October 11, 2011 Report Posted October 11, 2011 The procedure is the same when bidding for more than one room. Usually the number of rooms is a non-factor, but if it does have an effect, it's to the downside as the hotel has had to give PRICELINE a deeply discounted rate for at least as many rooms as you're bidding for. Example, a hotel offers PRICELINE:5 rooms at $80/nite10 rooms at $100/niteIf you're bidding for 6 rooms, there is not enough inventory at $80 to fulfill your request, so in this example it would take a $100 bid to be successful for all 6 rooms. As well, rates are date specific, so you won't necessarily be able to replicate the wins of other users if rates for your dates are higher then when other have won for less.So we don't suggest a strategy which goes higher then you're willing to pay, let us know your maximum bid for this stay and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. AHTOXXXA Posted October 11, 2011 Author Report Posted October 11, 2011 Thank you for your answer. I think the highest price for us is $110. Do you know how much is taxes and fees for Dubai? As I can understand the total will wy winnig bid x 7 nites + tax x 7. Am I right? Thanks a lot.

thereuare Posted October 12, 2011 Report Posted October 12, 2011 If you enter the location and number of rooms you need in the search box on the top right corner of this page, then on the next page select Jumeira, 5*, and enter $110 in the search box and NEXT. On the ensuing page you'll see how much fees/taxes are if your bid is accepted at the $110 rate. A slightly lower bid will have slightly lower fees/taxes... a slightly higher bid would have slightly higher fees/taxes.Are your plans firm and ready to bid/commit now? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. chw Posted October 24, 2011 Report Posted October 24, 2011 you might also want to consider trying HOTWIRE - they added Dubai now.
AHTOXXXA Posted November 14, 2011 Author Report Posted November 14, 2011 Hi! Tried to book Jumeirah beach area 5* 3 rooms 3/3/12-3/10/12. Bid $115 - no luck. Added Al Barsha area and bid $120. Still no luck. Even after I added all areas and bid $125 - no success. Does it make sense to wait a few days or week and make a new bid $115? Thank you very much.
thereuare Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 HOTWIRE has a 5* hotel in the Dubai Area zone for $131/nite... a 5* hotel in the Dubai South-Jumeirah area zone for $127/nite. (no way to know of these would be properties are used by PRICELINE as well, and if they are, if they would be 5* rated thru that service)Neither of these properties have yet been reported to the board, but the Dubai South-Jumeirah property does show a 4.5/5.0 Tripadvisor rating which is very good (the other property shows a 4.0/5.0 Tripadvisor rating, which is still pretty good). You could try PRICELINE again, but i would wait a week given the amount of time before your stay, rates don't usually change that much this much before your stay, and bidding too often at this point will likely increase your frustration level. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Keep us updated on your progress and/or if you decide for either of the HOTWIRE properties above.Good luck.
