spex2004 Posted October 10, 2011 Report Posted October 10, 2011 Hello,I'm currently trying to get a 5* hotel in Vegas strip north/south for $200 or less for dates 10/21-10/23. Kindly advise the right strategy to attain this? My goal is to try to get Venetian/Palazzo, Wynn, Encore, Aria or Cosmopolitan. I really do not want Trump. I've tried once already and failed but maybe my bidding strategy was incorrect..Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

spex2004 Posted October 11, 2011 Author Report Posted October 11, 2011 Ok. Responded to previous threads. Unfortunately I have not been too lucky with bidding. I almost always end up using Hotwire.
AaronJB Posted October 11, 2011 Report Posted October 11, 2011 Please provide the amenity icons that were showing with the Venetian HOTWIRE purchase in the Las Vegas HOTWIRE thread linked above. Thanks. :)Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted October 12, 2011 Report Posted October 12, 2011 At the 5* level you have ELEVEN re-bid zones. spex2004 Posted October 17, 2011 Author Report Posted October 17, 2011 I accidentally picked "Strip north condo" and ended up winning Trump Towers for $160/night. Slightly disappointed since I'm not too fond of Trump, but I know how to bid better for next time. Thanks for all the help!
AaronJB Posted October 17, 2011 Report Posted October 17, 2011 Sorry to hear about the error, but glad the hotel will still work out okay for the trip. Not a bad deal as well, as the hotel is on sale from $279 at $223 on Expedia for these dates.Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
spex2004 Posted October 25, 2011 Author Report Posted October 25, 2011 It was actually pretty good. And with the $20 trick, I was upgraded to a larger corner suite on a higher floor with an awesome Strip view. All and all, pretty happy.
AaronJB Posted October 25, 2011 Report Posted October 25, 2011 Glad to hear that this turned out to be a great stay! :) Thank you for the follow-up review.
