Kaiw Posted October 11, 2011 Author Report Posted October 11, 2011 Sorry south beach central, south beach collins avenue ocean front and south beach ocean drivealso i have a question about booking two rooms. it said i would need to put the name for a person for each room. would i run into any problems if i put my name for both rooms even though i would not be staying in one? i will be arriving before my guest and would like to be checked in to both rooms already and also want my card used for both rooms. would this be a prob or will i have to put one room in my name and the other in my guest?
thereuare Posted October 11, 2011 Report Posted October 11, 2011 No problem putting both rooms in your own name... as long as you show up to check-in! If for any reason (flight delayed, get sick, relative ill, weather, etc) your friend could have a problem checking-in until you're able to show up. Not a likely scenario, but i always try to warn as to 'what could go wrong'.When bidding 4* in the Miami region you have SIX re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* Collinss Ave Oceanfront and Ocean Drive...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* South Beach Central...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* South Beach Central, Collinss Ave Oceanfront, and Ocean Drive...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. Kaiw Posted October 11, 2011 Author Report Posted October 11, 2011 thanks for the advice. i think im going to wait it out for a couple days in hopes of a better price. if no luck by next week will lower the star level as id really like to stay in this area for the trip
Kaiw Posted October 11, 2011 Author Report Posted October 11, 2011 May try downtown for 4* as well. really want to stay in that quality range. will keep you posted
thereuare Posted October 12, 2011 Report Posted October 12, 2011 I think you have a decent shot at a 4* hotel in the Downtown zone, but it will be at/near/close to your upper limit. If the star level is one of the most important factors for this trip, you may also want to consider Coral Gables-Coconut Grove... it's further from South Beach then Downtown, but the 4* hotels there often get good reviews and this zone may be cheaper then the others you're considering. If you need help with a bidding strategy for these other zones let us know which zone(s) you'd like to include and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. AaronJB Posted October 13, 2011 Report Posted October 13, 2011 Are these for the same dates as discussed in your Priceline Miami thread? Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Kaiw Posted October 13, 2011 Author Report Posted October 13, 2011 yes, sorrydates oct 21 through the 23rd
thereuare Posted October 13, 2011 Report Posted October 13, 2011 Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. We have not seen a 4* property reported to the board with the amenities above, but my guess would be a new amenity set for the InterContinental (Chopin Plaza). The amenities of the South Beach Oceanfront Collins property matches previous reports for the Doubletree Surfcomber, but that property was last reported to the board as a 3* hotel, so i'm speculating that it may have been upgraded since then and that would be my best guess for this one. I will however point out that this HOTWIRE offering has a somewhat low 60% recommendation from previous HOTWIRE guests and fairly low ratings on all the criteria that HOTWIRE asks for feedback on.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
