susanjones Posted October 8, 2011 Report Posted October 8, 2011 I'm looking for a 3 1/2* - 4* hotel in Midtown or Chelsea, NYC for Oct. 25-30 but I'm not finding any of the prices like people have posted here. Everything is high $200's-mid $400's instead of low $100's. What am I doing wrong?
AaronJB Posted October 8, 2011 Report Posted October 8, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)You're definitely not doing anything wrong; prices (especially in major markets like NYC) can change significantly from day-to-day (and pricing and inventory for each set of dates can possibly change at any time.) Unfortunately, these dates definitely do appear busier. What would be your desired budget per night, and which zones would be acceptable?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

susanjones Posted October 9, 2011 Author Report Posted October 9, 2011 My desired budget is <$275+taxes for 3.5-4* in Chelsea or Midtown. Thanks for your help. My only experience with Hotwire last August was not favorable so I guess I'm not confident to use them.
thereuare Posted October 9, 2011 Report Posted October 9, 2011 My desired budget is <$275+taxes for 3.5-4*...Are you willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3.5* OR is your goal the least expensive 3.5* or better for this stay?Is PRICELINE an option for this trip OR do you prefer to pay a little more (via HOTWIRE) to be able know the hotel has specific amenities and/or take a guess as to what you may receive. Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option?HOTWIRE does currently have a 4* hotel offered in the Chelsea zone for $275/nite with:Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business... and a very favorable 4.5/5.0 user review rating on Tripadvisor. The Wyndham Fashion 26 Hotel has previously been seen with this amenity set, but this property is now a Hilton, so that would be my best guess for this one. Is this of any interest? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
