psychoandy Posted October 8, 2011 Report Posted October 8, 2011 Initially I wanted to stay in DC for 4 days, but split my reservations between priceline & hotwire due to increased demand during this week to get a better rate. I also tried lastminutetravel but many of their room selections were sold out and all that was left was The Embassy Row Hotel which from tripadvisor reviews didn't look so hot but had a great location.I started arbitrarily at $95/night in 4 star White House - Downtown; first bid rejected but they immediately offered a rebid at $31 more without having to pick other areas, lower star rating, etc. I got lazy and accepted and they gave me the JW Marriott! The Willard or Sofitel would have been even better (since they are normally $400+), but after tripadvisor-ing the JW Marriott it appears to be very nice & in a great location (and retail is $200+/night).
