tynee Posted October 8, 2011 Report Posted October 8, 2011 10/21-10/23 --- I tried 5* North for $90 and they did not accept it. 5* and 4* North for $120, did not accept it. 5* and 4* North and South for $130...Got Westin Casuarina Las Vegas. Not too happy about the hotel I got. But I guess I have no choice. Cannot cancel or change it. :)( I'm not even that familiar with that hotel. Checked the website and the rooms look a little outdated. Anyone stayed there already? How was it? Please let me know. Thanks. Might try the $20 bill thing and see if it will work there to get a nice room.
thereuare Posted October 8, 2011 Report Posted October 8, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding!Sorry to hear you're not pleased with the results. It appears after your 5* bidding failed you immediately lowered to 4* and increased your bid (or kept it the same), which is not recommended. See the following thread for more information on why you want to Lower Your Bid Price If You Lower Your Star Rating. The negative reviews for the Westin are mostly centered around the location as it's slightly off-strip (but walkable), the casino is small, and it lacks the 'fanfare' of the newer themed Vegas properties.Thank you for sharing your win with the board. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay. LT-- Posted October 10, 2011 Report Posted October 10, 2011 I just stayed there a few days ago (also a priceline win). I honestly don't know where these negative reviews come from. The personnel is really friendly, we had a nice room with a king bed on the fourth floor which wasn't outdated (except for the tv, but who watches tv when you're in Vegas?), the pool is small but in comparison to the Flamingo-pool (where I'm staying right now) really relaxing and quiet, the walk to the Strip is around 5 minutes and if you want, you can take the back entrance of the Bally's right across the street so that you don't have to miss any Strip-action. I had the same feeling as you when I won the Westin, but that was not necessary. The Westin surprised me in a positive way.
