Used the convenient PRICELINE link at the betterbidding.com site. It really is handy to use the link, esp. when starting new bids during a Free Rebid Zone session, since you can just fill out the date range and city just once.

Step 1:

* Began bidding 4* CA + HK + ME at $110.

* Utilized 5 free rebid zones to bid up to $200 in $5 increments.

* No bid accepted and no counteroffers.

Step 2:

* Began bidding 4* CA + HK + ME + CPS + DSFD + ESB + MW + TSTD + UWS at $140.

* Utilized FRZ strategy to bid up to $200 in $5 increments.

* No successful bid and no counteroffers.

Step 3:

* Began bidding 4* CA + HK + ME at $205.

* Utilized FRZ to bid $235 in $5 increments.

* No success and no counters.

Step 4:

* Began bidding 4* CA + HK + ME + CPS + DSFD + ESB + MW + TSTD + UWS at $205.

* Utilized FRZ strategy to bid in $5 increments.

* At $210, received a counteroffer of $261.

* Rejected counteroffer, continued to bid in $5 increments.

* At $220, again received counteroffer of $261.

* Again rejected counteroffer. Continued bidding in $5 increments.

* Bid accepted at $230.

I had a backup reservation at Cassa for $299 + tax, which was the lowest price for an acceptable hotel.

Current lowest rate available at the Kitano is $399 + tax.

Haven't stayed at this property before, but it is in a very good location.
