Priceline Hotel: Austin hotels (a different one)

Hi all. I'm looking to get a 4* in the Downtown area. My first bid was shot down, so now I'm exploring the re-bid option. My two questions are: 1. are we positive that Lake Travis and Austin North are safe to add for 4*'s, and 2. If I add both of those for two rebids and those are rejected, where do I go from there? After trying the 3 zones, do I then just wait out the 24 hours?

For that matter, is there a preferred lead time for bidding? I'm still 3 weeks away from my date. Is that too soon or too late, in a general sense?

Much thanks. Damned useful forum you got here. (and yes I used your PRICELINE links)

Welcome to BetterBidding!

When bidding 4* in Austin you actually have EIGHT re-bid zones. See this Priceline Re-Bidding Explained link on how to determine your re-bid zones and confirm them with the board. If you read the previous link and are confused just post back and we'll break it down further for you.

What are the date(s) of your trip and what is your maximum bid (per nite before fees and taxes) for this stay?

Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.

Yeah, once I got there I actually noticed that. The zones on the bidding side of things are different from the zones on the published rate side; that's what threw me off. Appears to be a moot point, however. Checking with a couple of other sites tells me that hotels are really filling up fast for that night; not sure why. Wasn't expecting that on a Wednesday night (10/26). Most of the Priceline 4*'s appear to be already full.

Looking like I'll be expanding to 3.5*, and there are some decent ones just outside of Downtown.

Thank you for keeping us updated and for using the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links. Please let us know what you decide and if you have any questions. What would be your max bid for downtown? In terms of the outlying area/s, which zones would be acceptable?
