Hi I'm a new member, appreciate any help. I'm looking for a room for 2 adults, 10/28-11/01. Would prefer the highest star rating possible, would settle for 3.5 stars in the loop' grant park OR mag mile/ streeterville area. We are not super picky about specific amenities. A pool would be nice, no deal breaker though. On site restaurant preferred, too. It'd be nice to spend about 100$ nt but we are flexible, want a nice room in a nice hotel!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

I don't think your budget is going to be an issue, but did you first want to bid up to your limit in the NMA zone OR is your goal the least expensive in either the NMA or Loop zone? Also, as quality can vary even within the same star rating, are you willing to accept any hotel in the zone(s) you choose... or would you be willing to pay a little more to have a guess as to the property you may receive (and/or know the amenities and see use review ratings before your purchase)

Let us know the information above and we'll advise accordingly.

What are you looking for in terms of things to do; if you are looking to be out at night for restaurants and nightlife, I'd definitely suggest staying North of the River. If you are mainly going to be out during the day for tourism and will be back in the hotel in the evening, the Loop or NMA would be okay. The concern with the Loop is that the area (especially the West and South loop) can be quiet/very quiet at night.

If you're looking for a hip/trendy property, I'm seeing a 4* NMA/Water Tower/Gold Coast property on HOTWIRE w/Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Spa for $100 (the price you see may vary slightly), which could be a match for the Omni or W Lakeshore, although I'd guess the W Lakeshore is more likely.

Otherwise, I'd suggest using PRICELINE as HOTWIRE rates are otherwise more in the $125-150+ range (but I do think you could likely get a nice property within your budget range. If you are not picky about amenities, would you not want to go for a 4* and instead look at a cheaper 3.5* (or 3*?) There is no way to guarantee pool via PRICELINE; with HOTWIRE, you can look for a listing with a pool icon (such as the one mentioned above.)

Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Spa Services, for the dates 10/28-11/01.

Congrats on your success. :)

Terrific deal for this W property - I'll also recommend the Fox and Obel Market and Cafe, which is a few minutes walk away at the corner of Illinois and McClurg. Very nice cafe for breakfast/lunch/dinner + very nice gourmet market.

Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.
