rutgersgirl82 Posted September 29, 2011 Report Posted September 29, 2011 Hi - This is my first time ever attempting to use Priceline. I am looking for a 4* hotel in the price range of no more than $225 (maybe $250) with taxes. I've tried bidding for several days now at $150/$160 but no luck. I am flexible on the location, would just like to be somewhere in midtown versus up/down town. We live locally so we don't want to spend more than that for just the one night. I can go as long as even the day before to try and make a reservation. Is it likely the prices will come down as the date gets closer? I've checked on hotwire, priceline, and Expedia for anything remotely close in that price range. In your experience do I have any shot of finding a 4* hotel in that price range with only two weeks till the date? Thanks!
thereuare Posted September 29, 2011 Report Posted September 29, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding! There is no way to know if rates will come down, or continue higher, between now and your stay. See the related 'Bid Early or Close to Arrival' link in our PRICELINE FAQ.Based upon current rates i'm guessing you'll need to be around $225 bid amount (before fees and taxes) to be successful. Have your previous bids included MTE, MTW, CPS, TS and ESB? Have you bid any other zones? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
