Priceline Hotel: 3* NYC (Queensborough Bridge) Bentley Hotel

Hello!! I am new to Priceline and this forum. I've been doing some reading on the forum and trying very hard to score a great deal! I've had no luck and am getting very frustrated! I will need a room from 10/14-10/16. I was hoping to get a room in the MTW, MTE or THEATER district for under $200 (doesn't include taxes/fees). I'm pretty firm on staying in this area. I've placed bids as high as $215.00 and gone as low as 2.5 stars (even though you advise against it). I keep striking out. Do you have any advice? Do you think I could get a better deal if I wait until just before 10/14? I really appreciate any help or advice you can give.

If you've already bid up to your limit your choices comedown to:

• raise your bid
  
• lower your star rating
  
• add other nearby zones
  
• wait it out and hope for lower prices in the days ahead
  

You say you're committed to the zones above, but have you consider the ESB zone which isn't too far from the other zones you have already bid?

Thank you for the response! I have tried expanding my search by increasing my price up to $225 and including the following areas - MTW, MTE, CPS, CHELSEA, ESB, HK, MSG, TS, QUEENSBOROUGH. Still no luck!! The only areas I haven't included are Downtown and Upper West and East sides. I do not want to stay in those locations, so I am not going to add them. I think I will have to bite the bullet and fork out more money than I was expecting or hoping to pay!! I might as well pay the $269 for a hotel I can choose! I'm a little disappointed that Priceline is not allowing the deep discounts they advertise.

Discounts vary by date, area and other factors. If it's a particularly busy period, discounts are not going to be as aggressive, as hotels are expecting full-price walk-ins or direct bookings.

Which regular rate property are you seeing for $269?

I just won the Bentley Hotel in QB for $199 a night. The hotel looks beautiful! It's the best rate I have seen for any 3* hotel! Thank you Priceline! I was just about to give up on you! = )
