Alex440 Posted September 28, 2011 Report Posted September 28, 2011 Had searched around a bit and even bid up to $55 on Priceline without winning anything so went with Hotwire. Based on amenities, I was pretty confident we would get the Country Inn and Suites in Midtown Savannah, which we did for about $78 with taxes and fees. A little more than I wanted to spend but given I was booking for that night (a Saturday) and the cheapest rate for this hotel was Priceline's non-bid site for $92, I guess we did OK. Got a large king room on the 3rd (top) floor near the vending machines, although noise wasn't an issue. The hotel is undergoing a remodel and we got an older room with a fridge and micro. Amenities listed were:No smokingBreakfast includedFitness centerPoolLaundryHigh-speed internetUsed the HOTWIRE link via betterbidding.com. By the way, earlier in the day the rate was $61 and a few hours after my room was booked I checked the price again and it was $69. The Sunday rate for what appears to be the same hotel was in the low $50s.
