Cali_Kid Posted September 28, 2011 Report Posted September 28, 2011 Looks like I will have 11-12 rebid opptys, but can someone guide me to narrowing down what Hotels are the candidates? Do I look at Priceline's direct site (where you can book at guaranteed rates) and just sort by the highest star levels in that area? Does that tell me they are also on the "Name Your Price" side or am I all wrong?Thank you
AaronJB Posted September 29, 2011 Report Posted September 29, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)The hotels in the area that have been reported to the board can be found at this link: Priceline Hotel List California. That list provides the hotels that have been reported to the board - star rating changes and new hotels can be reported to the board at any time. The hotels on the retail side of PRICELINE do not all participate on the bidding side. Please let us know your desired budget per night.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Cali_Kid Posted September 29, 2011 Author Report Posted September 29, 2011 I know about the pinned hotel list, but recent posted activity in this area seems sparse so it would not be up-to-date. I thought there was a way to use Hotwire or priceline's direct side as a cross-reference to narrow down the "guess" as to what is being offered? i am looking at less than $100/night...

thereuare Posted September 30, 2011 Report Posted September 30, 2011 The 'retail' and 'name your own price' sides of PRICELINE each use a different universe of hotels, there is a lot of overlap, but the two sides of their service pull from a different pool of hotels, so you can't use the retail side of the service to determine what you will get when bidding. As well, the zones, and boundaries, of each side of their service differ as well. For more info on this subject see the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ.With PRICELINE you have to be willing to accept any hotel at the star level (or higher) that you bid, there is no way to target, or avoid, a given property. If you're trying to target, or avoid, a specific property HOTWIRE is often a better option as you can take an educated guess as to what is being offered based upon the amenities being shown. The trade-off is that PRICELINE is usually a little cheaper then HOTWIRE.Let us know if/how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
