Jasonhat Posted September 27, 2011 Report Posted September 27, 2011 Hi - I have a fairly last minute trip to NYC and the hotel costs are crazy right now (even for NY). I'm wanting to stay in one of the following zones: Hell's Kitchen, Midtown East, Midtown West, Empire State Building (and Times Square as a last resort). My max budget is $300/night, and yesterday I bid up that high on 3.5 stars and got nothing. I'm wondering if the inventory is gone at this late date. Any help would be appreciated. Of course, I bid through the Better Bidding PRICELINE link above!
thereuare Posted September 28, 2011 Report Posted September 28, 2011 HOTWIRE has a 4* hotel in the ESB zone for $334/nite, just a bit more than you've already bid. The amenities are common: Fitness, Restaurant, Business and Internet, but my guess would be that this is the St. Giles The Court. If you're budget is firm at $300/nite, there is a 3* available in the Chelsea-MGS zone with Breakfast, Fitness, Business, Internet and priced at $260. The reviews are good with a 90% HOTWIRE user recommendation and a 4.0/5.0 Tripadvisor rating, and my guess for this one would be the Holiday Inn Express Madison Square Garden. While not the 3.5* you were bidding on, it is within your budget, and based upon the reviews is at least one of the 'better' 3* hotels in the area. Are either of these of interest and work for your needs? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Jasonhat Posted September 28, 2011 Author Report Posted September 28, 2011 Thanks so much for the information. I looked on HOTWIRE, and saw the option you referred me too, but then I was able to find a deal directly with a new hotel in the Flatiron District (the Flatiron Hotel) for closer to $300/night. I'm going to go that route, but I'll definitely hit BetterBidding up the next time I travel. Thanks!
