barbest Posted September 27, 2011 Report Posted September 27, 2011 For several days, I've been bidding for either a 3.5* or a 3* hotel in the La Guardia airport zone. Used the PRICELINE link and your rebidding strategy several times with no success. I did not want to pay more the $120. Last night I bid up to $115 for a 3*. Tonight I received a counter offer for my $95 bid, suggesting I up my bid to $121. I decline and continued my rebidding process. My bid for $105 was accepted. I'm happy with my result.

barbest Posted September 27, 2011 Author Report Posted September 27, 2011 I bid successfully for the LaGuardia Plaza Hotel. I then read some horrible reviews of the hotel regarding bed bugs and hotel condition. It is a Priceline 3* property. Are there problems with that hotel? I'm wondering if the reviews are accurate and if so do I have any recourse with Priceline?
AaronJB Posted September 28, 2011 Report Posted September 28, 2011 Sorry to hear that you're disappointed with the hotel - you can call/write PRICELINE and make your case and see what they say.
barbest Posted September 28, 2011 Author Report Posted September 28, 2011 I don't know if I'm disappointed, because I haven't stayed there yet. I am concerned after reading the reviews of the property and if the reviews are accurate, I'm surprised that Priceline still uses that hotel. I was asking for some input from others who have stayed there recently.
thereuare Posted September 28, 2011 Report Posted September 28, 2011 The reviews for this property are mixed, but there were more positive reviews then negative, of those i read.If you're not happy with the accommodations first (and best) course of action is to try to resolve any issues with the front desk staff... explain specifically what is wrong (ie- something tangible such as pointing out something dirty or not working property... rather then commenting on the decour/style of the room) and try for a better room assignment. If unsuccessful work your way up the corporate ladder and try to next speak to the manager.Good luck and enjoy your stay.
