teeny Posted September 25, 2011 Report Posted September 25, 2011 I have not used priceline for portland before so I though i'd get some advice! I am planning to go to Portland October 8-11, 2011 and would like to stay downtown in a 4 star. What would you start your bids at? Are there rebid zones in Portland? I would love to get the nines...Thanks!
Romelle Posted September 25, 2011 Report Posted September 25, 2011 Yes, there are rebid zones for Portland at the 4* level. The first post in the General Priceline Tips topic talks about how to determine them (see Priceline Re-Bidding Explained). There are lots of rebid zones. Post back if you still aren't sure you've got it right, and somebody will help your understanding. If you check the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins (center of page here), entering your dates and selecting Oregon Oklahoma - PRICELINE, you can see other bidder results for your dates. At the moment there is only a 3* bid there, but this can change.Your first night might be more difficult than your other two. HOTWIRE only had 5* availability for that, not 4*. I'm sure you know it, but you can't control just which hotel you get when bidding. Have people reported getting "the nines" yet? You can determine that by entering "portland nines" in the Quick Search at the top of this page. Romelle
AaronJB Posted September 25, 2011 Report Posted September 25, 2011 Additionally, what would be your desired budget per night? In terms of specific properties, there is no way to guarantee with HOTWIRE, but with that service, you can make an educated guess as to which hotels are showing - the hotel you want may not be showing for your dates and multiple hotels may show with the same amenity set, making ID difficult (and star rating/amenities can change at any time.)Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
