MINDUAN Posted September 25, 2011 Report Posted September 25, 2011 I would like to book two 4 star NYC hotel rooms for the period of Oct 17-19 and Oct 23-26. I have tried several time and my bids are up to 285$, but still failed. The area I prefer to stay is EBS, MTE and TS, but MTW and CPS. Do you think it is difficult to get a rate under 285$ for two rooms for those dates. Please suggest a strategy for me. Thanks a lot.
AaronJB Posted September 25, 2011 Report Posted September 25, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Please start a new thread for the 10/23-26 stay; we'll use this thread for the 10/17-19 stay.In terms of the 10/17-19 stay, what would be your desired max budget per room/night? I don't think you're very far off from a win in your desired zones. Unfortunately, the Fall/Winter in NYC is busy/very busy and often expensive.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted September 25, 2011 Report Posted September 25, 2011 I would also question how much you need a 4* hotel and how much more the higher star rating is worth to you vs. a very good 3.5* property. For example, HOTWIRE has a 3.5* MTC property for these dates for $235/nite with:Fitness, Restaurant, Business, InternetMore importantly, it has a 95% recommendation from previous HOTWIRE guests and if you click the CONTINUE button next to this offer, it has a very hiigh 4.5/5.0 Tripadvisor rating. My best guess for this property is The Jewel (and if you do purchase this one make sure it shows the 4.5/5.0 TA rating as there are other hotels in this zone which use the same amenity set, but are not as highly rated)Would this work for your plans? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
