Priceline Hotel: Petaluma/Rohnert Park, CA 3.5* help

Hi all,

I am trying to get a 3.5* hotel in the Petaluma/Rohnert Park area for 10/1/11 - 10/4/11 (3 nights). In the 3.5* range on Priceline I see that the options are the Sheraton Sonoma County Petaluma and Doubletree Sonoma Wine Country.

Using 5 bidding criterias, I have bid up to $95 with no luck. I have seen other posts on Better Bidding that people have gotten these hotels well under $70 (granted I understand that these were different times of the year).

If I book directly from the Doubletree site I can get a room for these dates at $113/night. At this point it almost seems like that would be the best option to guarantee a room since Priceline is not working as I had hoped.

Does anyone have any ideas why I am struggling to get a room at one of these hotels? Is something going on during these days in that area?

If you can book the Doubletree for $113 i would take that deal given you've already been turned down with a $95 PRICELINE bid... for less than $10/nite savings i'd choose the hotel and hopefully be able to choose the bed type, non-smoking/smoking, etc.

If you do book direct please use the board's link to the Doubletree, which is also found in our support page where we have links to most of the major hotel chains and online booking agencies (or our PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links if you continue to bid)
