Hotwire Hotel: 4* Chicago (NMA-Water Tower-Gold Coast) Whitehall Hotel

I had a last minute hotel need in Chicago, I paid the price, this place was horrible. (My post hotwire review reflected that)

This was the only sub $300 hotel anywhere on the north side of Chicago 4 days out. I rolled the dice and thought based on 4*and their website I was going to be ok. The location was great, but the hotel was worse than some 2* joints. Room smelled of smoke/cigars, only 1 elevator working plus 6 people was crowded. Had to wait 10+ minutes for a cab outside. Will stay away from the possibility of getting this place on return trips to Chicago.

Sorry to hear this stay didn't go as well as you expected and the property didn't live up to the 4* rating.

It was the Whitehall and was $224 plus tax/fees for $270 total.

This was 9/13/11.
