suitcasefull Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 I am a newbie and read that you can bid one night on Priceline and if you win add additional nights. Is that correct? I am going to NYC in Nov. and want to be near a subway.
Romelle Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 Almost correct. You can only add up to as many nights as you originally bid. Bid one - add one. Bid 4 - add 4. And also Bid 4 - add 1 or 2 or 3.You can only add on one side - just before or just after the original bid nights. The add-on feature isn't always offered. And even when it is, sometimes the added night can be at a higher rate. You also pay an additional basic Priceline fee for the new night(s).Still, the feature can be very useful when your plans change.Sometimes people use it to take a peek at what they might get, and if they like it they add on more of the same.RomelleRegarding your NYC trip, most of the areas are near subways. One is occasionally mentioned as not. I think it is the one with the United Nations buildings in it. You will find lots more discussion in the New York area.
suitcasefull Posted September 20, 2011 Author Report Posted September 20, 2011 I heard that you could bid one night and then add additional nights on Priceline if you won. Is that correct? I will be in NYC Nov. 6-10 and want to spend about $150. I am more worried about how close I am to the subway than how nice the hotel is. Any suggestions for areas?
AaronJB Posted September 21, 2011 Report Posted September 21, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Which zones would you be interested in bidding for? Is your budget $150 + taxes/fees per night, or $150 "all-in" (with taxes/fees included)? There is no way to guarantee a hotel near the subway, although one particular zone/star rating combination where properties may be further away from the subway is 3.5* MTE.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted September 21, 2011 Report Posted September 21, 2011 ... also, what is your desired star rating for this stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
