This will be our first visit to NYC although have been to Florida, LA & Vegas previously.

Our budget is around $200 per night including taxes / fees etc.

It will be normal tourist stuff so would like to stay near Central Park or Empire State Building but happy to accept advice on where to stay.

We would prefer 4* but appreciate this may be difficult in NYC.

Trip is for our 10th Anniversary.

Thanks

May 2012 is a long way away, but this is typically an expensive time of year in NYC, and at the moment a $165/nite bid (~$200 all-in) doesn't appear like it will likely be enough for a 4* hotel... assuming your bids are rejected, will you:

-wait it out given the time before your stay

-raise your budget

-lower your star rating

Thereuare, budget is pretty fixed so might need to look at private apartments if hotel prices are above that threshold for May 12. I will have a look and let you know if we are prepared to accept lower star hotels.

Thanks

Let us know what you find/decide. Like i said above, it's still quite early and a lot of things can change between now and then, but at the moment rates are pretty high.

Decided to book 1 bed apartment on corner of 39th street and 5th Avenue. $200 per night incl. tax.

Thanks for the earlier info on prices.
