maxedoutman Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 Evening all, firstly great site, very informative, and will probably change the way I book hotels in the future. So this is the problem....firstly I've been looking for a hotel in Munich (using this site's link). Now I know what hotel I would like to stay in as I've stayed there many times before, but I'm not sure if I will be selecting the right hotel when it comes to bidding. The hotel I'm looking at is the Holiday Inn City Centre (Hochstrasse 3) in Munich City Centre South. I do believe there may be another hotel in this area which is one I don't want (due to the location). Using the US site, I'm also not sure of the star rating. Any help or advice would be greatly appreaciated.I was also looking at the Hotwire option, but in all honesty, booking directly with Holiday Inn is cheaper when you factor in the cost of breakfast (which I presume will be on top of the Hotwire price....this is 25 Euros a head).Cheers and thanking you all in anticipation.
thereuare Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding! You can't bid on a specific hotel when using PRICELINE, you have to be able to accept any hotel in the zone at the star level (or higher) that you choose. With HOTWIRE you can often take an educated guess as to what is being offered based upon the amenities associated with the property, but it's still a 'best guess' and no guarantees you will receive the hotel you're hoping for. As well, HOTWIRE only shows one hotel at each star level per zone, so there is a chance the hotel you're hoping for isn't the one which is offered for your particular dates.Regarding breakfast, if it is a standard amenity of the hotel then your PRICELINE / HOTWIRE purchase includes breakfast too... if it's only included under a special package rate, then it is not included in a purchase thru the opaque suppliers. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
