nordyut Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 I have been reading the posts and looking for answers on how to win the Omni CNN Center downtown Atlanta. I can't find any current Priceline posts or documented wins. Did Omni stop using Priceline and only uses Hotwire?
thereuare Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding! You can't bid on a specific hotel when using PRICELINE, you have to be able to accept any hotel in the zone at the star level (or higher) that you choose. With HOTWIRE you can often take an educated guess as to what is being offered based upon the amenities associated with the property, but it's still a 'best guess' and no guarantees you will receive the hotel you're hoping for. As well, HOTWIRE only shows one hotel at each star level per zone, so there is a chance the hotel you're hoping for isn't the one which is offered for your particular dates.Based upon the above let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... and your searches too! (please click each of the previous links before replying... thanks) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases

nordyut Posted September 19, 2011 Author Report Posted September 19, 2011 I understand the process of Priceline. I am concerned that the Omni CNN is no longer an option on Priceline. It was on there several years ago. Have you seen the Omni being won through Priceline bidding lately?
AaronJB Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 This hotel has not been reported to the board in a couple of years. That does not necessarily mean that it doesn't participate on PRICELINE anymore, but some hotels use PRICELINE frequently and then aren't seen for a while. There's no way to know when/if the hotel will start appearing more frequently (although, as noted above, there's no way to bid for a specific property.)Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Romelle Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 The Omni is on the retail side of Priceline as a 4* hotel. That of course does not necessarily mean it will come up as a win via bidding. But at least Priceline is carrying it, and 4* is the right level for bidding and hoping for it.The retail description does include the word "Midtown" in it, so you'd have to do some mapping to make sure of it's bidding zone.Romelle
REDSHOES172 Posted October 2, 2011 Report Posted October 2, 2011 Just won on priceline the Omni Hotel-I checked HOTWIRE first to "guess" what hotels would be available, but it's never a guarantee.
