meeper Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 Am bidding through your PRICELINE link. I was aiming for around the $60 mark because there is a previous successful bid for $60 in the area at the 3* level during part of this time period.Day 1 - bid $50 for 3*Day 2 - $55Day 4 - $60Day 5 - $65Day 6 - $67 - finally got a request to counter bid at a minimum of $82Now, I have found a decent similar price at $87 Canadian and frankly I am debating stopping and just booking that one instead. Any suggestions?
AaronJB Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 If you got a counter-offer for $82 at $67, the actual required price is somewhere in-between, and could very possibly be towards the low-end of the range. If you try again, I'd move up by $2's.Thank you for using the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches. meeper Posted September 25, 2011 Author Report Posted September 25, 2011 Correction to my original post - the dates are in October, not September, sorry! So I kept bidding - $69 and $71 - and they kept suggesting that I try bidding at $82.I finally bid at $73 and got the 3 1/2 star Hilton Vancouver Airport, even though I was trying for a 3 star only. I'm actually not very happy with this choice because the 3 stars that I was trying for has free parking and this place charges $13 CDN per day for parking! :)
AaronJB Posted September 25, 2011 Report Posted September 25, 2011 Sorry to hear that you're disappointed with the result. Hopefully the hotel will still work out okay for your travel plans. Possibly there's alternative parking options nearby?Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
