Hotwire Hotel: 5* Phoenix (North Scottsdale) Fairmont Scottsdale Princess

Hello all,

I just got the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess on Hotwire.com for $161/night. This hotel was listed as the 5* hotel in North Scottsdale with 95% of customers recommending the hotel.

I stay in Scottsdale quite often and recommend the 4.5* hotel in North Scottsdale. This hotel has always been the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale (Gainey Ranch) every time I have booked. The Hyatt is better because the rooms/facilities are much more updated than the Fairmont. Also, the Hyatt is sandwiched between North Scottsdale and main Scottsdale which makes things better if you want to travel to Old Town Scottsdale, etc.

The Fairmont DOES NOT have a resort fee; however, the Fairmont charges $10/night to self-park you car. The Hyatt has a $20/night resort fee but no self-parking fee. I think the Hyatt is a better deal in this regard because for $20/night you get self-parking, Internet (about 3Mb/sec), access to a nice fitness room, bicycle rental, etc.
